1ST EDITION FK86 EASY CHAIR
BY FABRICIUS AND KASTHOLM
Inspired by functionalism and the resoluteness of Scandinavian design, which had a considerable influence on the aesthetics of the sixties, designers Preben Fabricius (1931-1984) and Jørgen Kastholm (1931-2007) devoted themselves to optimising shape, material and ergonomics.
In 1961, they founded a studio together which became a birthplace of numerous classics in furnishing history. Their main concern was to clearly state the function of an aesthetic form. This principle resulted in lasting symbols of the modern age.
Good example is this FK86 chair, designed in 1966. This specific piece is a very early edition by Walter Knoll, with steel feet and a rare, red polyester shell. In extremely good condition considering its age.
