EARLY EKC EDITION OF THE PK61
BY POUL KJAERHOLM
No need to introduce Poul Kjaerholm (1929-1980), one of the most important and documented Danish designers. From the beginning KJaerholm was very radical in his choice of materials and his minimalistic approach to furniture design, mostly using chromed steel frames.
Practically all of his designs have become classics, like this rare first edition PK61, designed in 1956 and produced by his long time friend E. Kold Christensen. Later Fritz Hansen took over the production of most of Kjaerholm’s designs.
Our PK61 is stamped by E. Kold Christensen and features the most sought after top in cipollino marble.
