RARE MODERNIST ROSEWOOD DESK
BY FABRICIUS AND KASTHOLM Sold

Inspired by functionalism and the resoluteness of Scandinavian design, which had a considerable influence on the aesthetics of the sixties, designers Preben Fabricius (1931-1984) and Jørgen Kastholm (1931-2007) devoted themselves to optimising shape, material and ergonomics.

In 1961, they founded a studio together which became a birthplace of numerous classics in furnishing history. Their main concern was to clearly state the function of an aesthetic form. This principle resulted in lasting symbols of the modern age.

A good and rare example of their vision and talent is this fabulous desk in steel and rosewood, designed in the 60’s and produced by Bo-Ex. A wonderful piece of midcentury ‘mobelkunst’. Restored to perfection.
